Newsflash

I have a response form the Ministry of Justice regarding our application for a pardon for my mother, Christine Keeler.

It is actually quite a nice letter, explaining, before they would consider a pardon we should go to the “Criminal Case Review Commission”. The CCRC are an independent body who investigate possible miscarriages of justice, so it makes sense that we would be directed here as we are arguing so strongly that my mother was actually innocent. We thought this was always a possible outcome, or next step.

I have now pulled all the documents together and sent them on to the CCRC asking if they would consider my mothers case for investigation. I think because we have argued my mother was in fact innocent

So people are taking this seriously.

My mother was sent to prison for lying about who was present when she was assaulted, (there were more people who saw and confirmed that she was beaten up in the street) She did not lie about being attacked…they put a victims of an assault in prison and it was wrong.

So I look forward to hearing from the CCRC and then taking the next steps.

Wow, an interesting occurrence! I wish that the CCRC would come to the conclusion that, indeed, your mother's conviction and sentence in December 1963 were wrong.

Beyond that, I have a question: In this website there is the Court Transcripts from the trial of Lucky Gordon June 1963 available for reading. What about court transcripts of Lucky Gordon's appeal and the trial of your mother that led to her conviction for perjury and conspiracy to prevent the course of justice? Are they still confidential? If indeed all of your mother's lie at trial amounted to her denying the presence of Fenton and Camachio at the time of the assault, and the 2 men confirmed her claim that she was brutally attacked by Gordon, and that the wounds, blood, and stains of violence that were on her face were caused by Gordon, a presentation of transcripts from the court of these two legal proceedings may be more convincing than the press reports from 1963!

Hi Liya

That’s a great question. In 1963 court proceedings were hand written and only transcribed “typed” if there was a issue with the case. Gordon’s original trial was transcribed because of the appeal process, appeal request and the judges would have asked for a transcript of the original trial.
The others weren’t transcribed and the handwritten trial notes may be lost. We will see.
What we do have is comprehensive court reports in the newspapers of note. They give us a pretty fair account of what was said in court.

Upon reading of the petition I have informed the CCRC of my willingness to offer the original draft of C. Keeler's account of her story in book form up as evidence, and as understood by me to have been written by my deceased mother, Diana Elizabeth Laria Craver, nee , Knights of the scion of the Carnegie family.
